Servicing & Self-Inspection (Legal Requirements)

As with all inflatable life jackets, it’s a legal requirement that they are serviced annually in line with the manufacturer’s instructions.

These inflatable jackets can be self-serviced for the first 2 years.
After that, they must be professionally serviced every year.

Regular checks help ensure the cylinder is in good condition, the bladder holds air, and all components are working as intended.

Proof of Purchase – Keep It With Your Jacket

Water authorities may ask when your PFD was purchased, because servicing requirements start from the date of purchase, not the manufacture date.

To make life easy:

Put a copy of your receipt/invoice in a small sealable ziplock bag.
Place that bag in the pocket of your PFD or with your boating safety kit.

That way, if you’re checked on the water, you’ve got proof ready to go.

Looks pretty good quality and it was shipped from AU to NZ faster than I get most domestic things. One thing to note if your purchasing this from New Zealand they cant include the gas bottle. These can be purchased from The Warehouse for $20 but it would be good to know before you buy. They were very proactive and called me to let me know my options ie cancel or buy the bottle here and even went as far as to source where I could buy it. Excellent service really
