Hate hot, bulky life jackets? This Menace Marine Inflatable Waist Belt PFD keeps you legal without getting in the way. Designed by an Australian-owned, Melbourne-based crew, it’s certified to the latest AS4758.1 standard (Level 150 / old PFD Type 1 equivalent) for use in Australian and New Zealand waters – perfect for boating and fishing in Aussie conditions.

Why You'll Love This Waist Belt

Pull the single ripcord for instant 150N buoyancy using a 33g CO² cylinder – simple, reliable, and ready when you need it.

  • Compact Comfort – All Day Wear
Sits around your waist instead of over your shoulders, so you can cast, move and fish freely without a bulky jacket.

  • Serious Safety Hardware
Stainless steel buckle, grab strap and built-in whistle, all matched to the AS4758.1 Level 150 standard.

  • Hi-Vis When Inflated

Servicing & Self-Inspection (Legal Requirements)

As with all inflatable life jackets, it’s a legal requirement that they are serviced annually in line with the manufacturer’s instructions.

  • These inflatable jackets can be self-serviced for the first 2 years.

  • After that, they must be professionally serviced every year.

Regular checks help ensure the cylinder is in good condition, the bladder holds air, and all components are working as intended.

Proof of Purchase – Keep It With Your Jacket

Water authorities may ask when your PFD was purchased, because servicing requirements start from the date of purchase, not the manufacture date.

To make life easy:

  1. Put a copy of your receipt/invoice in a small sealable ziplock bag.

  2. Place that bag in the pocket of your PFD or with your boating safety kit.

That way, if you’re checked on the water, you’ve got proof ready to go.

Pro Tip Before You Hit the Water

  • Adjust the belt so it’s snug but comfortable.

  • Familiarise yourself with the pull cord and how the jacket deploys.

  • Keep up with your annual servicing so you know it’ll work when it counts.

Add this waist belt PFD to your kit today – stay legal, stay safe, and keep your shoulders free while you fish.
